I paint rooms with nobody in them and carve figures with no faces. Both are about what’s left when you stop describing.

Artist Name (b. 1988) is a painter and sculptor who lives and works between Dubai and Berlin.

The paintings are made slowly, in thin layers of oil on linen, from rooms and landscapes the artist has lived beside for years. The sculptures begin as drawings of those paintings and end as single, reduced figures in marble and limestone.

The work has been shown in Europe and the Gulf and is held in public and private collections.
